The five-day Familiarisation Workshop on Quantum Computing convened over 800+ participants from academia, research institutions, industry, and student communities, reflecting the accelerating momentum of India’s quantum ecosystem. Conducted under the aegis of the National Quantum Mission, the workshop was designed to build foundational understanding and advanced insight across the quantum computing technology stack.

- Prof. Shankar Kumar Selvaraja, Project Director, FQCI, outlined the National Quantum Mission’s vision to build a robust quantum ecosystem through innovation, human resource and skill development, technology advancement, industry partnerships, Startups support, and global collaboration—accelerating India’s leadership in quantum technologies.
- The workshop delivered a comprehensive journey spanning quantum theory, algorithmic foundations, superconducting circuits, trapped-ion systems, photonic platforms, semiconductor spin qubits, cryo-electronics, neutral atom architectures, and fault-tolerant design strategies.
- Discussions ranging from algorithmic quantum advantage to 100+ qubit processor design highlighted India’s steady progress toward building a sovereign quantum stack.
- Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees appreciated the technical depth, structured progression across modalities, and the engaging format maintained throughout the five days.
- The Familiarisation Workshop concluded successfully, marking a significant step toward building India’s quantum-ready workforce.
