Project Title: Towards Quantum Advantage : Design and Development of Algorithms, Codes and Protocols
Project Overview:
- Objective: To demonstrate quantum advantage via efficient generation and certification of approximate Haar-random states on near-term hardware.
- Theory: Unitary k-designs, random matrix theory, and spectral statistics.
- Generation: Quantum chaos-based methods & projective ensembles (optimized for dual-unitary/Bernoulli circuits).
- Certification: Hybrid numerics (Exact Diagonalization + Tensor Networks) using fidelity measures to validate unitary design properties.
- Outcome: Resource-optimal protocols transitioning from integrable to chaotic regimes, implemented on real quantum processors.
Essential Qualifications
- PhD in Many-Body Quantum Chaos—candidates with a PhD in Theoretical Quantum Physics, Quantum Many-Body Theory, Quantum Computation and Information Theory, or a closely related discipline may also apply. Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis in a relevant area are also eligible. Essential qualifications may be relaxed for an outstanding candidate.
Desired Experience
- Strong background in theoretical physics and/or quantum computing/quantum information
- Theoretical grounding in Random Matrix Theory and Quantum Chaos preferred

Project Title: Quantum Machine Learning: Reservoir Computing and PDE Solvers
Project Overview:
This project sits at the intersection of quantum computation, theoretical physics, and numerical methods. It aims to develop quantum algorithms for Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) hybrid quantum-classical approaches to build efficient PDE solvers for problems in science and engineering. The work combines numerical analysis with quantum information and computation to design, implement, and benchmark these solvers on near-term quantum hardware.
Essential Qualifications
PhD in Quantum Computation : Candidates with a PhD in Theoretical Quantum Computation and information theory. The candidates with a PhD in Theoretical Physics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering, or a closely related discipline (with quantum-computing expertise) may also apply. Thesis-submitted candidates are also eligible.
Desired Experience
- Strong background in theoretical physics/quantum computing; solid grasp of linear algebra, differential equations, numerical methods, and optimization.
- Strong Python skills — Qiskit, NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch/JAX, or equivalent.
- Experience in numerical modelling/simulation of physical systems (ODEs/PDEs).
- Able to independently formulate, implement, test, and benchmark quantum algorithms; strong publication record

Desired Profile:
- Education: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Quantum Computing, Quantum Information Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline with a strong foundation in quantum algorithms, quantum software frameworks, high-performance computing (HPC), and classical-quantum hybrid computing. Experience in developing, benchmarking, or deploying quantum algorithms on quantum hardware or cloud quantum platforms is desirable.
- Experience: Strong record of peer-reviewed publications or patents.
- Experience writing high-impact technical reports and presenting at national/international forums.
- >2 years of experience is highly preferred for effective lab-to-project transition.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of quantum algorithms, quantum software development, hybrid quantum-classical workflows, and familiarity with leading quantum software development kits (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, TKET, CUDA-Q). Experience with high-performance computing (HPC), cloud quantum platforms, benchmarking methodologies, and the ability to evaluate Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and technical progress across software and hardware-enabled quantum projects.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams comprising researchers, Principal Investigators, Technology Groups, industry partners, and government agencies. Demonstrated project planning, technical writing, and program management capabilities are highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-Doctoral experience in Quantum Computing, Quantum Information Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience in developing, implementing, benchmarking, or deploying quantum algorithms on quantum hardware or cloud quantum computing platforms.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary research projects, coordinating national or international collaborations, or working on government-funded R&D programs is desirable.
- Familiarity with Quantum Processing Unit (QPU), Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), and Central Processing Unit (CPU) resource management and cloud-based quantum computing ecosystems will be an added advantage.
